The short version

ProRouteHunter is a personal project that lets you browse pro cycling routes and, optionally, see how your own riding compares. Connecting Strava or uploading rides is entirely optional. You can delete everything we hold about you at any time from your profile.

What we store, and why

  • If you connect Strava: your Strava name, ID, profile photo and access tokens (so we can read your activities), plus summaries of your rides — average speed, climbing rate, and the approximate roads you've ridden — used only to power your personal time estimates and the “roads you've ridden” overlays.
  • If you upload GPX files instead: those rides are stored only in your own browser (local storage) and never sent to our servers.
  • Favorites are stored only in your browser.
  • A session cookie keeps you signed in after connecting Strava. No advertising or tracking cookies are used.

Cookies

We use a single, strictly-necessary cookie — a session cookie that keeps you signed in after you connect Strava. It contains only an internal account ID, is httpOnly, and is not used for tracking or advertising. Because it is essential to a feature you actively requested (staying logged in), it does not require a consent banner under GDPR/ePrivacy rules. We use no analytics, advertising or third-party tracking cookies. Your favorites and any uploaded rides are kept in your browser's local storage, not in cookies. You can clear all of it any time via your browser settings.

Who we share it with

We don't sell or share your personal data. It is processed by the services that run the app: Strava (the source of your activity data), Supabase (database hosting) and Vercel (web hosting). One-time country lookups for routes use BigDataCloud and involve only geographic coordinates, never your identity.

Your rights

You can access, export or delete your data at any time. The quickest way is the Delete account button on your profile, which removes your athlete record, stored rides and completions immediately. If you revoke ProRouteHunter's access from your Strava settings, we delete your data automatically. For anything else, email iver.morten@me.com.

Retention & security

We keep your data only while your account exists. Access to the database is restricted to the application's server, and your Strava tokens are never exposed to the browser or other users.
